We are Pogozo

Our mission is to make life easier for health and fitness businesses.

Every plan includes the full toolkit — booking, reminders, and payments. The more practitioners you add, the less each one costs.

Alex’s Story

When I started my career in Physiotherapy back in 2002, I was using a booking system built for GPs and writing treatment notes on note cards stapled together in the top left hand corner. We used to stamp the note cards with a custom made ink stamp of a body chart and initial assessment form. When I opened my own practice I was desperate for some modern-day technology and began using a cloud-based practise management software program. It was great and felt revolutionary.

Then over the years my business grew. We added team members and a number of different services, we added a gym including classes and sold memberships to our clients. We became busier and started to automate as much as we could. We systemised our business operations, streamlined our client communications and boosted our marketing. However, our once revolutionary practice management software couldn’t keep up with the way our business was evolving. With every bit of business growth we added another software and then another and then another until we were subscribing to 7 difference software programs to run our business. We talked to dozens of practise management software providers and none seemed to do even the basics of managing appointment and class bookings, let alone everything else.

Determined to initiate change within the industry, I approached two of the major software providers, hoping they would solve the challenges faced by myself and so many of my colleagues, but unfortunately none seemed interested in developing the features we needed. I therefore, decided to take matters into my own hands, I mean, how hard could it be? As it turns out, very hard.

I called my Dad and said I had a new business idea and would he be interested in investing. Without asking for the details, he asked me what I was willing to put into it, and I said I’d sell my home, use my business as a testing site and put every waking hour of every day into the new idea until it succeeds. He said that was good enough for him and that he was in.

What began as a projected seven-month build ultimately took nearly two years to reach the first beta testing phase. We spoke to over 200 clinic owners who faced the same system challenges and have incorporated feedback from all of the businesses in our beta testing program. In November 2024, Pogozo was officially launched.

Today we spend on average 75% of our time developing features requested by businesses that use Pogozo. We’re committed to growing alongside you and adapting our software to challenges within our industry focusing on making changes so your work-life is easier and your business more profitable.
